Children Have Built nearly Three Thousand Easter Eggs!

Yesterday, enthusiasts were trying to achieve the record in building Easter eggs from LEGO bricks in all national shopping centres AKROPOLIS. To mark the Second Sunday of Easter children from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai had a great time building nearly three thousand Easter eggs in all of the cities over the weekend! According to the event organisers, the result has exceeded all expectations.

Members from the Lithuanian LEGO fan community referred to as “LitLUG” (Lithuanian LEGO Users Group), who monitored the whole event, said that thousands of LEGO bricks had been used during a two-day construction. The total Easter egg building area covered 120 sq.m., whereas around nine thousand children and adults were involved in the construction and striving for the record.

Having calculated all Easter eggs, it has turned out that the most active masters were in Vilnius and Kaunas – with nearly a thousand eggs each! In Klaipėda and Šiauliai, the number of colourful, different size eggs exceeded five hundred, respectively. During the events competitions were also held. In all of the cities, 300 LEGO sets were given away as competition prizes.

This has already been the second collective LEGO construction competition. During the first one, on the occasion of the 1st of September, both children and adults were building a LEGO city.
